What is Family Practice

Family practice is a medical specialty providing comprehensive health care to people of all ages. It is a form of primary care which concerns the total health care of the person and family. It deals with general medical, psychological, and developmental needs all patients. 

Family practice physicians are trained in several basic disciplines including internal medicine, disease prevention, pediatrics, obstetrics, gynecology, general surgery and psychiatry. This overall knowledge allows them to diagnose and treat a vast majority of common illnesses.
